Baraga offers many places and events worth visiting, ranging from viewing fall colors and snowmobiling to enjoying the scenery or fishing.
Baraga Marina

Capul Park
Capul Park has new playground equipment, along with corn hole boards, ping pong table (the bags and paddles are in the mailbox), and picnic tables. There are currently two pickle ball courts open to play on.
Capul Recreational Park is located on highway US 41 next to the Baraga Marina on the walking trail. This park is in honor of the late Ben and Hedy Capul. Ben worked for the Jacobson family for over 45 years managing forest operations. Hedy worked for the Baraga Area Schools as a nurse for over 30 years. Currently the park has new playground equipment, along with corn hole boards, ping pong table (bags and paddles in mailbox), and picnic tables. There are currently two pickle ball courts open to play on. We have future plans for a pavilion with handicap accessible bathrooms, shuffleboard, kayak launch, fishing pier, and a full size basketball court.

Canyon Falls Roadside Park
Canyon Falls Roadside Park is a great place for the kayak lovers or the fisherman. Canyon Falls is one of the most well-known roadside parks along US 41. Located 7 miles south of L’Anse, near Alberta. Along the falls there is a fence to keep viewers safe. As long as you stay on the trail it is very safe and beautiful.
Little Mountain
Little Mountain located down the golf course road in L’Anse is another great tourist attraction. A few other places to check out include: Slate Falls (Arvon township), East & West branch of the Huron River, Silver Falls, and many of the waterfalls on the Falls river.

Mount Arvon
Mount Arvon is the highest point in Michigan, standing 1,979 feet above sea level. Mt. Arvon is located 12 miles East of L’Anse. However, in the winter and spring the road will be closed due to snow or mud, making it difficult for vehicles to get in and out.
If you enjoy hiking in the mountains then Mt. Arvon is definitely one to climb. Climbing Mt. Arvon is no walk in the park, you can easily get lost in the woods.
Silver Mountain
Silver Mountain is also another great place to view the fall colors and get a work out at the same time.
Sturgeon River Gorge
The Sturgeon River Gorge is a beautiful sight in the fall with all the fall colors changing. You will see the beautiful 25 foot waterfall within the 14,139 acres of wilderness. You can also see a vast amount of wildlife along the terrain. Whitetail deer, bald eagles, snowshoe hare, beavers, otters, and many more inhabit the land. Not only do you get a great view of waterfall but wildlife as well.
Veteran Memorial Park
The Veteran Memorial Park is located at the Baraga Cemetery on highway US 41.
Walking Trail
2.5 mile non-motorized walking trail from Ojibwa Campground to Baraga State Park.
1.3 miles from Ojibwa Campground to Baraga marina along the beautiful shores of Lake Superior. Newly completed 1.2 miles from Baraga Marina to the Baraga State Park.
